In the development of a framework for a National Employment Delivery Strategy, the Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW) is holding its annual conference, Employment Now! Diversity Planning for Inclusive Employment, to discuss and move the Employment Equity agenda forward in Canada. Employment Now! will bring persons with disabilities and a wide range of leaders in employment and disability issues together to discuss:
- Attitudinal Barriers
- Advancing Workforce Inclusion
- Identifying Employment Opportunities
- Improving Organizational/Business Readiness.

Forum this Fall in Toronto
A National Forum on "Defining a Rights Based Framework: Advancing Inclusion of Students with Disabilities" is being planned by the Canadian Association of Statutory Human Rights Agenices' (CASHRA) to take place in Toronto, September 25-27th 2008.
This national event will feature well known speakers and resource persons from across Canada. Individuals and organizations with an interest in disability issues, human rights or education will find this a unique opportunity to address important issues facing Canadians as well as the international community.

This American website is a resource centre that aims to ease the overwhelming
process of accessing web-based information by collecting quality information
specific to health care questions. Unlike traditional search engines, The Healing
Project serves as a personalized patient guide that offers professionally
screened web pages. The Healing Project is currently developing "Voices Who Care,"
an online social network designed to connect the patient community by providing
individuals with a forum where they can meet online.
Scarborough Centre for Employment Accessibility Events
Funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario,
Toronto District School Board's Scarborough Centre for Employment Accessibility
(SCEA) is a self-service Employment Resource Centre that provides employment
assistance to all job seekers, including Persons with Disabilities. Visit

Georgian College Part-time Therapeutic Recreation Program Information Sessions
In May and June Georgian College will be holding information sessions for people
interested in its Postgraduate Therapeutic Recreation program, which starts in

Access to Recovery Spreads Awareness About Substance Abuse
Access to Recovery is a national project by the Canadian
Association of Independent Living Centres (CAILC) in partnership
with the Canadian Abilities Foundation that focuses on people
with disabilities and substance abuse. CAILC has spoken with both
consumers and substance abuse service providers about how it
can help increase the level of support available to people with
disabilities who are seeking help with their substance use.
