Guidelines
PROJECTIONS is part of the Abilities Festival: A Celebration of Disability Arts and culture.
The festival is open to films and videos created by artists with disabilities or featuring actor(s) with a disability.
In order to encourage the participation of as large an audience as possible, for this our first year, we are inviting those distributors whose films have won awards in other festivals to submit their work for consideration.
We are also considering works by Canadian filmmakers (directors, writers, producers, actors) with disabilities which may not have yet been distributed.
All entries will be reviewed by our programming committee and those selected for the festival will be advertised on our web site and in a program book. Prizes will be awarded to those Toronto audiences chose as favorites in various categories.
With the permission of the distributors, videos not chosen for this festival, may still become part of the video library that Abilities Festival intends to have ready for individual audience viewing during its 4 day festival celebration in 2005.
Please note no master tapes should be sent unless prior agreement has been made.
Works submitted in languages other than English must be subtitled.
Regretfully, it does not appear as if we will have enough sponsorship money to pay exhibition fees at this our first festival. Some exceptions may be possible and we invite those with special circumstances to contact us directly.
All submissions must be received before April 30th, 2004
Films are acceptable as Video tapes, which need be Beta SP, DV, D8, SVHS, or VHS. VHS entries can be in NTSC, PAL or SECAM.
