Myelin disease

Myelin disease is any disorder or disease that causes damage to body’s myelin, the protective sheath covering the nerves. Many acquired diseases or inherited metabolic disorders attack the myelin. They include, for instance, multiple sclerosis, leukodystrophy, Guillain-Barr� syndrome and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. Myelin disease can affect vision, hearing, balance, speech, mobility and memory.
