There are many WSIB Adjudicators who are horrible, but there are many who are decent people to deal with. Of,course you only hear about the bad.

For the above post...the Appeal process is not a delay tactic...it's a process. Not a great sytem though.

I am not siding with the WSIB, just speaking from experience. I had one very helpful adjudicator who did everything to help me when I injured my back, but then I had a terrible experience with another one. I did get a rep who did NOT charge $600, which I think is insane!!!

Each claim is different and each adjudicator is different. I battled it out with WSIB endlessly and have truly learned alot! Most important thing is to keep records of evverything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Just responding to your letter and am very intersted in your problems with the institute for injured workers. I am a P>S>W and work in a long term facility last year i had emergencey back surgery invoving 2 heriniated disk and a pinched nerve of my lower back my nel disability is 17percent so i tried going back to work but it agravated my injury to much way to much pain to continue wsib closed the book on me i have gone threw my sick time and am now on unemployment i heard of this peter mancini and gave him a call he had me sighn a waver and proceeded to put an apeal on all desissions made on my case no payment has been discussed and i haven't sighned anything but a waver. i understand that i am my own best advcate in this matter and have tried tiredlessly alng with my dr. My experience with WCB I have found then to be corrupt and more of a barrier than a help. I am curios how then can justify their lush pension plans and fat salaries when the service is so shoddy. I received $150 dollar per month partial disability pension and averaged $6 per day for lost wages while I was off work from my work injury. Make note: Some unscrupulous person @wcb has gone out of their way to forge medical reports too deny me lost wage benefits on a $6 per hour claim. I received $150 dollar per month disability pension.I averaged $6 per day for lost wages while I was off work. WCB recently sent me a letter telling me to just forget about it and get on with your life. It is highly on likely I will ever forget about my exposure to wcb. It was a mistake electing wcb service because it�s shoddy.

I had enmailed every goverment MP in ontario about the corruption at wsib. Only one MP responded that pretty much sums up whats going to be done about the FUCKING CORRUPITION AT WSIB....

I worked in the automotive inspection sector. I have herniated disks in my neck C3-C7, Carpal Tunnel release on left hand (no relief), Carpal Tunnel in my right hand which has been denied, nerves in both my elbows are shot, list of my restrictions are very long.I've woken up to my arms and legs completely numb. I ate Tylenol 3s for close to 2yrs, cyclobenzaprene, diazapam and oxycets for 2 years after that now I am on Demerols and Mobicox. I've been threatned by WSIB many times that they are going to "cut me off". I called a lawyer to help handle the paperwork that WSIB was trying to bury me under, they did an excellent job. Now I have very little feeling in my hands, the pains in my neck are excruciating sometimes causing me to double over in pain. I am awaiting surgery on my neck. WSIB sent my file over to Cascade Disability Management they somehow got me approved to take a MCSA course (work on computers, set up networks etc....) my doctor is going to laugh at them as I can barely get through my day on my meds. If I don't take the course I've been told that my benefits will be cut off but my health is more important than their dirty money. The only thing WSIB cares about is how fast they can either pay you off and get you off their back or being grubs when it is time to pay out some money. Have you already gone through LMR? Do yo have any skills where the WSIB can send you for training? Are you unable to work due to you disability????

I am the wife of an injured worker and believe me I know most of the horrific stories through personal experience.
First thing I did was release the Union from representing my husband because they suggested 'company insurance' and not to file a claim for the injury through WSIB.
Second I wrote the 42 page appeal that won his claim and revealed fraudulent acts by the company regarding WSIB claims. I am guessing the company only got a slap for it because they still persist on doing things that are illegal.
Third, we, stupidly hired VocServ and after more than a year of no contact and no settlements, we are in the midst of getting rid of them and definitely NOT PAYING their hourly fee as they told US when we signed on that if they couldn't get money no one could and went as far as saying the initial retainer of $642.00 would be refunded; so far a run around but I am determined to blow them off and do proceed with the claim ourselves. They toot having over 7000 clients but really, how many have they helped and/or even kept in contact with????
Fourth, Any of you with a direct issue/problem with your adjudicators attitude, delays, no contact etc... CALL THE WSIB FAIR COMMISSION NOW.
We just attended their seminar last night and they will investigate improper proceedures by your adjudicator and or faciliators.
They are INDEPENDANT of WSIB and have been implemented to do just these things. They are the NEW WATCHDOGS for workers and employers concerning any and all WSIB claims/disputes/attitudes/delays/LMR programs etc....
I know the paper runs deep; and hope to have the biggest bon-fire when I am done with these organizations but I refuse to give in BECAUSE THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT; THEY WANT US TO GIVE UP AND GO AWAY; DON'T. PERSIST, BE STUBORN; THAT IS THE ONLY WINNING ANGLE WE HAVE.
