organization providing support services to adults with physical

experience in finance or fundraising, or an awareness of

- People who use wheelchairs during activities of daily living
commonly store personal effects in a wheelchair bag that hangs on
the backside of the chair. This inherently makes it difficult for
wheelchair users to independently access their supplies. A
solution to this problem is posed using a set of motorized
linkages that can move a bag between the back side of the chair
and the user's lab for easier user access.

As a C.I.A.P. (Community Information Access Project) volunteer you will begin by finding out which
places in your community already identify themselves as accessible � hotels, bed & breakfasts,
forms of transportation, restaurants, theatres, galleries, museums, parks, and other attractions. You�ll
visit places in your community and use a C.I.A.P. assessment form to evaluate their accessibility.

- Review police reports
- Initiate contact with the victim to provide police and criminal justice
information
- To provide crime prevention information
- To provide referrals to appropriate government and community resources
- To provide short-term emotional support to victims of crime and tragedy
- To complete paperwork in reference to break and enter, robbery, sexual
assault and assault
- Volunteers undergo 100 hours of classroom training during their probationary
period of 6 months. The training and casework is combined to be progressive
in nature. In addition, volunteers are given the opportunity to participate
in further optional training. They will also have the opportunity to
participate in the unit's direction and organization by joining various
committees.
- This is a two-year National Initiative to assist persons with disabilities
who are unemployed (and not entitled to Employment Insurance within the last
three years), to upgrade their employability skills. We will also provide
assistance in employment related skills such as covering letter/resume
preparation, employment contacts and self-employment skill development.
- We are asking candidates for a minimum commitment of one year, with a maximum
weekly commitment of one/two days, either full or half days. The candidates
will undergo an application process including interviews plus reference,
criminal, fingerprint checks.
- The candidates will be reimbursed out-of-pocket expenses for each day worked.
The successful candidates must be mature, sensitive, patient, reliable,
