The volume of art produced by people who have disabilities is proof positive that disability does not have to interfere with creative expression - on the contrary: in many cases, a disability enhances it. Whether you're interested in music, painting, dance, theatre, sculpture, photography or what have you... you'll find something for you in this section of EnableLink.

  • Disabled Voices is a writers' group for people with any type of disability. Started in July 2001 by Catherine MacDonald after much searching on the Internet for a positive place to hang out as a disabled writer. The goals of the group are to get people sharing their writing and experiences with disability, to discuss disability issues or any other interests in a safe friendly environment, to share information and links to disability and writing related websites and to have fun and meet others. All writers and readers welcome! To check it out and find out more visit http://communities.msn.ca/DisabledWritersGroup/.
  • The International Guild of Disabled Artists and Performers (IGODAP) is a collective of artists and performers who identify as being disabled or having a disability. Visit IGODAP's website to find out more.
  • Living with a disability is often challenging. Growing up with a disability can be even more complicated. Read a poem by a young teen contemplating his feelings about growing up and what the future holds for him.
