Sex and Sexuality    Photo of a male amputee, bare-chested, with head back and eyes closed; photo by Rasso Bruckert.

People are sexual beings, and having a disability does not change that - although there may be a few more barriers to overcome when it comes to expressing one's sexuality. Most of these barriers are imposed by society, and the articles, resources and information collected in this section of EnableLink are one step towards celebrating our sexuality and moving beyond those barriers.

  • Planned Parenthood of Toronto (PPT), in partnership with the Anne Johnston Health Station, is currently seeking a Program Coordinator for its SexAbility Program. The program will offer safe and confidential peer counselling to youth with mobility disabilities on issues relating to sexuality. For more details check out our Classifieds section or e-mail PPT at [email protected].

  • Are you a person with a disability, or are you in a relationship with a person who has a disability? How did you meet? When did you know you were simply perfect for each other? Share your inspirational love story! Send it to us at [email protected]. We will include it in our upcoming online Love Stories!

  • Come As You Are, a disability-positive sex store based in Toronto, Ontario, is a regular contributor to ABILITIES magazine's advertising pages. Find out what makes this store special by checking it out in the Products and Services section.

Don't forget to share! Send us your sex/sexuality news, updates and events to include on EnableLink. E-mail [email protected].
